Can you use clicker training in the opposite way – eg. Click when the bird chews shoes, bites fingers and will not let go? My Galah Ollie steps up OK but when you go to place him back in his cage, he holds on to my hand/fingers and will not let go. I tell him ‘home’ on the way to the cage and ‘up’ when he gets inside. I also say ‘no biting’ in a raised voice but this does not seem to be working. Any comments please. Thanks.
In my opinion.. no you can’t use the clicker for “bad” behavior. Birds measure excitement in levels. Rewording good behavior and not responding to bad behavior has worked wonders in our birds. (We have two birds, Boo Boo and Skully)
Before the birds have play time we go through the “play zone” making sure doors are shut, window closed and personal items are put away.
all these birds stand still on there cages. When i let my african grey out it just goes beserk and i cant get near her. any advice

the full clip is not opening i want to see this but plz any one help me.

This power pause training is something that I will try with our rescued cockatoo.
She is teriffied of hands, and it has taken me a few months to get Baby to “step up” but she only will step up to an elbow, not a hand.
This may let her free herself from some of her fear.
Thank you for the video.

Hi
Everyone seems to have a LARGE bird, however mine is a small yellow breasted lorikeet, named Ricky, he is fast and very quick.
He does not bite or scream, but I would like to have him potty trained. I have asked many bird lovers (including Chet), but have not had success.
Can anyone help me plz?
