Well, my Green Cheek is too friendly. Because I mainly work from home, he wants to be with me every moment from when I wake, until he goes to sleep at night. He has no interest in the ton of toys in his cage. If I try to lie down to watch tv, he will try to sneak in between my head and the sofa. He loves to snuggle.

I have a 6 mo old green cheek that I hand fed. He was very friendly at first but as he matures he has become antisocial. He doesn’t bite but is very skittish and you have to coax him out of the cage. I get him out and handle him daily but he just doesn’t play much and really would prefer not to be messed with. I do not have small children or other pets that may have scared him. I am very disappointed because I want a social interactive bird. Any ideas???

I have a green cheek that is my best buddy and we do every thing together . What I have found out with green cheek’s is you have to spend time with them so you and the bird can be come one and what I mean about that is so the bird no’s you are the one who brings it food treats and toys. When you and your bird do that you will see a change. Jeremiah

I have had a green cheek conure from the time it was 3months old and I put my face in front of his and say “NO, DON”T BITE, then I grab him by the beak so that he sees what I mean and then I repeat “don’t bite” over and over again. He understands me now and when he is beaking, he sometimes will do it hard like a bite and I will say “NO” then he will stare at me for awhile.
He is learning!

It’s very typical for a green cheeked conure it bit, you can’t do anything about it!

Hello I am a new owner of a ‘green cheek’ conure and he is 3 months old. He was from a breeder who hand rears all his birds. Unfortunately he bit me quite hard and I’m a bit wary of him. Can you give me tips on how to be more confident with him and he with me please?
