I find all of your information very useful. My lorikeet gets about half an hour out of his cage in the morning and 1 - 2 hours of an evening. He has fallen asleep in my lap on a number of occasions! I wish all bird owners would take the time to learn about responsible parrot care. I saw a forum entry where a lorikeet owner said it was ok to give them McDonalds french fries and other rubbish "occasionally". I don't let my bird have any unhealthy food. Could you clear something up for me. I notice you do not recommend dairy foods but I have seen a number of times people recommending milk arrowroot biscuits and rusks "soaked in millk". I have never done this - I soak his rusks in warm water to soften them. Is milk really ok? Thanks again for your great advice. I am really enjoying (and benefiting) from your info.

I have two cockateils, Max and Maxine. I tried to feed them whole vegetables. I found out that they were not eating them. I read this article and found out that the veggies might be too big. when i cut the veggies up, the birds wouldn't stop eating them. I also tried to cut them into different shapes, and use different colors. My birds are now eating their vegetables without any trouble at all.

Thank you for sharing your info. Most of the info is, in fact, such common sense, but unless we are reminded to think in a certain fashion, we could miss the point altogether. I do not have children, and so your guidelines are ever so valuable to me. I've never had to consider any other, other than adult - (and have sometimes wondered if some of them are not worse than kids...) - A real eye-opener, Thank you.
